Last week, we (Center for Early Green Education) visited Jakande Estate comprehensive Senior College to sensitize them about climate change and why they need to help fight this wicked environmental problem of our time.
According to UNICEF, “Children and young people represent 30 percent of the world’s population. Not only do they represent the largest group of people currently affected by climate change, but they are also more vulnerable than adults to its harmful effects. Children and young people also constitute the generation that will be required to deal with the future impacts of climate change and that will have to deliver the very deep cuts in greenhouse gas emissions that will be essential in the coming decades.”
The issue of climate change is a precarious one. All hands must be on deck while we are trying to further the cause of humanity, everybody especially children are inordinately affected by climate change.
