On June 9, 2017 – World Oceans Day! Center for Early Green Education created awareness about the dangerous state of the world oceans and the impact of marine litter has on the environment and this was done in collaboration with @FoundationStarters and with the help of some friends of the environment – @NERAG, @Mrs Dosumu and others. We went on a tour of a recycling plant, West Africa ENRG, with the students of Golden Steps Secondary School, Amuwo Odufin. The idea was to expose young minds to one of the numerous sustainable waste management strategies that can help reduce the human impact on the environment and oceans. World Oceans Day is a day set aside by the United Nations to remind all of us of the role oceans play in our lives as humans and to also inform the general public about the impact of man’s actions on the oceans.
