Are you aware that everyone, including children and young adults, can get involved in protecting and conserving wetlands through learning and discussing the importance of these unique ecosystems with friends and family? Let’s go on a journey together as I explain wetlands and their importance.

Wetlands are areas where water is present at or near the soil’s surface all year and covers the soil.

They are usually found in areas where the ground does not drain effectively and is saturated with water. A wetland’s water can come from a nearby river or lake.

They primarily exist in diverse climates and on every continent except Antarctica.

The main types of wetlands include marshes, swamps, and bogs.
